Cash's version of popular song written in 1875 by Henry Clay Work, but may have originated earlier. Suggested as a song for children to sing and slow down at the end for QCA Unit 4 'Feel the Pulse' at KS1. Also worth listening to the percussive 'clock' sound in this recording and for older children noting the key change just over half way through.

Elvis performs this traditional hymn accompanied by a Gospel choir and band (piano, bass guitar and drums). The melody is written using a pentatonic scale, for KS2 or KS3 pupils focussing on songwriting or arrangement, it may valuable to compare this recording with the Charlotte Church performance also on the site.

Rumoured to have been written by Henry VIII, this is a typical Tudor song featuring a rhythmic ostinato on tambourine with melody and accompaniment on recorders. The song is played three times on this recording, first instrumental, then sung by solo male voice and finally with a group of singers in harmony.
